julianne simitz
comedian. writer. producer.
the clitorati
Once upon a writers room, Julianne got sick of being silenced by men with mediocre ideas (not to mention jokes). She fantasized about what an all-women's writers room would be like, then realized she could make that dream a reality. And in 2013, The Clitorati was born.
Five years, three cities, one show, and more than 1,000 members later, the group is thriving from coast to coast. In 2016, Nicki Fuchs established the Washington D.C./Baltimore/NoVA chapter and, as of 2018, Nikki Hartung established a chapter in the comedy mecca of Chicago.
The Clitorati is a sisterhood and support system for comedy writers (stand up, sketch, characters, storytelling, tv/web series). Members meet monthly to work on material, punch up old jokes, get new tags, brainstorm, and network with other funny females in Los Angeles. We focus on our craft, eat some hummus, drink some wine, and----most definitely----talk some shit.
NO BOYS ALLOWED.
